Waluigi's spiritual ancestor?

Dastardly's probably my favorite classic animation villain around, and seems to be a founder for flashy, flamboyant, self-absorbed baddies who were loved by the audience rather than hated.

Loved so much, in his case, that he got his own spinoff series, Dick Dastardly and Muttley and Their Flying Machines. I think this might make Dastardly one of the earliest villain protagonists, which is wicked cool.

Drat! And double drat!

Have you ever seen the Great Race? It's got a villain called Professor Fate (played by Jack Lemmon) who was a big inspiration for Dick Dastardly's personality and character...and he had an awesome moustache, too. ;)

No problem, I hope you get to see and enjoy it! You should hopefully have an easier job of finding a copy than I did, they don't sell it in the UK so my girlfriend had to import a copy from the States. ;)
